Kompressor

There will be few successful anglers who have not heard of Kompressors. A range that is a direct result of applied research, knowledge and experience. Owning a Kompressor is the hallmark of an angler who is quietly confident, seasoned and capable of extracting the best from tackle. Rods that have the capability to handle rip tides, hook up with fish patrolling distant horizons or gently lob a bait into the back of the breaking surf. Detect and telegraph what is happening at the terminal end and the casting stroke, relay information and seriously haul back. Adaptable, secure and very desirable.

Shore fishing is as varied as it gets in angling. Rocky coastlines, kelp jungles, smooth endless beaches with hidden gullies, cliffs and rapidly changing sea states combined with tides and wind. You need all the technology you can get to exceed in this most demanding environment. Kompressors are born in the crucible of the autoclave where heat and pressure combine to compress the design into a rod that will perform over years of demanding, changing circumstances.

The Kompressor range is characterised by a smooth easily controlled casting action for all styles – overhead, off the ground or Pendulum. They have a successful pedigree in tournament casting and have held the World Records in 125gm, 150gm and 175gm for distance. The Kompressor WR300 was the first rod ever to cast over 300 yards at a UKSF Grand Prix. Yet it still has highly desirable fishing qualities that are well within the scope of good anglers. Kompressors are universally rated as the best not just by us but by the endorsement of thousands of sea anglers who enjoy the benefits this range delivers.

All Century Kompressors are produced using our Autoclave Technology process.

Kompressor WR300

The WR300 is so named after achieving a new UKSF and World Record record cast at Huntingdon, England in May 2002 on 150gm (5.25 ozs) weight. The exact distance was 301.43 yards. The first rod ever to cast over 300 yards at UKSF Grand Prix. Many had said it could not be done and many had tried for years. Autoclave Technology, Gearbox Design and the remarkable dedication of Danny Moeskops made it possible.
Now what’s that all got to do with angling and what benefits does it bring you? Simple – Century set out to produce a true fishing rod because the style of casting used in the arena of Tournament casting is not that different to practical sea fishing – just add a whole load of practice and dedication. Using heavier lines and to combat with tough conditions the Gearbox gives terrific control during the compression stage of the cast and brings feel on the retrieve through dense kelp and over rough ground. The WR 300 is a user friendly, practical sea-angling rod that will lift your aspirations to the highest levels. It will retain its casting and fishing parameters long after others have given up the ghost.

The latest updated version of WR300 features our new weight saving livery and grips around the joint and maintains the exact core material specification and fundamental design principals of the original.

Kompressor S

Obedient, servile, almost placid and then you hurl out this whooping great cast and your reel makes the sort of music that seems to last for ever. This Kompressor is designed to deliver a super smooth cast. This smoothness is a key feature of the remarkable design – it helps to calm the reel and keeps you in the loop throughout the cast with feedback that almost seems uncanny. Connect and haul. It all seems so easy. It has taken some considerable time to perfect and we incorporate all our resources including Autoclave Technology, years of experience on the beach, custom mandrels, the latest electric rolling tables and more than a little attention to detail. The Kompressor S is the great all rounder and you do not need to be a mighty pendulum warrior to get results. An easy action in the tip focused into a progressive Gearbox butt allows you to access the power zones and release the stored energy at your discretion rather than the rods.

Kompressor SS

The Kompressor SS is a more powerful version of the Kompressor S. Danny Moeskops who had a huge influence in the design of the Kompressor SS wanted to retain intrinsic smoothness in the cast. Load up with 175 gram plus baited trace, reel brimming with line, 12 turns of 80lb shock leader and send it all into effortlessly into big seas and really rough ground. The upper tip retains the same compression curve of the Kompressor S however the lower barrel of the tip and butt is more powerful allowing energy to be stored and released through a series of enhanced Gearboxes. The smoothness of delivery is a revelation and the rod recovers quickly to allow the fast passage of line. This smoothness cannot be overemphasized and it is a benefit we have spent a considerable amount of time achieving to give 100% feedback from the cast. Consider kelp jungles, really tough conditions that anglers encounter on the eastern seaboard of Scotland down to Yorkshire, Northern Scotland with its deep sea lochs, Wales and Cornwall, where local and roving anglers can battle the elements with confidence. The Kompressor SS has been completely evaluated in these venues by anglers who were impressed by the power, lightness and slimness of the rod that can send a baited trace and 200gm lead a long way.
