OHSAS 18001: 2007

Another First for Century

Occupational Health and Safety

OHSAS 18001 is an assessment specification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. It was developed in response to the need for companies to meet their health and safety obligations in an efficient manner.

OHSAS 18001 was created via the concerted and combined effort of a number of the worlds leading national standards bodies, certification bodies, and specialist consultancy groups.

The OHSAS specification gives requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, to enable an organisation to control its OH&S risks and improve its performance. It was developed to be compatible with both the ISO9001 and ISO14001 management systems standards and Century operates this standard within its IMS (Integrated Management System).

The people who create our products need to be certain that they work in a safe factory where risk is managed and their health is of paramount concern. Century has implemented OSHAS 18001 and is audited by SGS United Kingdom Ltd.

In working for Century you have the certain knowledge that the Company places great emphasis on your health and wellbeing. When you buy a Century product, you know that the people who made it are working in a safe environment. Part of our assurance to customers – that we are in our market for the long haul – means that the very same person who made your rod is likely to be involved in building your next, several years later!

Good safe working conditions for everyone who operates in our offices and factories means reliability for customers, security for staff and a “no compromise” attitude.
